Community Service

Our students also have many opportunities to reach out to people within our community through their community service programs such as:
  • A Greener World
  • Project Reach Out
  • Lend a Hand
  • Light Up a Life
  • Children Helping Children
  • S.A.G.E

A Greener World

In response to ever present challenges of global warming, this community service initiative was to plant trees, in and around Abuja. This initiative also raised awareness of environmental issues.

Lend a Hand

This initiative lends a hand to various charities. We have provided essential amenities for various charities, most recently the Amazing Grace Old people's home situated in Kado, Abuja.

Our student council partnered with this initiative and came up with fund raising activities to accomplish this goal.

Project Reach Out

This initiative was introduced as a way of teaching the students how to share and care for the less fortunate.

In the past, we have provided resources for LEA PRIMARY SCHOOL LUNGU, a primary school in our neighborhood.

Light Up a Life

Light Up a Life, was aimed at providing teaching and learning materials for the pupils of the F.C.T School for the Blind, Jabi Abuja.

This gesture helped in providing access to quality and decent education for the pupils and brightened their chances of becoming productive members of the society.

This initiative earned the school an award as the “Best Sustainable Development Goals Project” of the 2018 National School Entrepreneurship Exhibition organised by Students for the Advancement of Global Entrepreneurship (SAGE) and SMEDAN.

Children Helping Children

This was our community service program for 2019. The aim of this program was to educate the pupils in our adopted school, LEA PRIMARY SCHOOL, LUNGU. Our students donated their time to teaching these children. They are in the process of renovating some of their classrooms.

S.A.G.E

Students for the Advancement of Global Entrepreneurship, aptly named SAGE is an organisation whose sole purpose is youth empowerment, and youth innovation. We are a member of this group and produced award winning projects, that have been geared towards bettering our community. Our projects have won the “Best Sustainable Development Goals Project” of the 2019 National School Entrepreneurship Exhibition organized by S.A.G.E

The innovative business project that secured the victory is branded Irrigatex. Irrigatex is an intelligent automatic irrigation system (IOT smart farming) that automatically monitors and controls the level of water available to the plants without any failure or human intervention. The system was designed to continuously sense the moisture level of the soil and respond appropriately by watering the soil with the exact amount of water and then shut down the water supply when the required level of soil moisture is achieved. Additionally, this project won the Gold medal of the S.D.G 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure) category of the SAGE International World Cup, held in Berkeley California, USA.
